Citation Basics

MLA

Here are the basics for citing electronic sources in MLA style. Always include as much information, as is available or applicable:

 

  • Author and/or editor names
  • Title of the work
  • Name of the web site or project
  • Any version numbers available
  • Publisher or sponsor information (if available)
  • Date of publication (if available)
  • Medium of publication (Web)
  • Date you accessed the material
  • Electronic address, printed between [<>]. (If required by your instructor)

APA

 

Here are the basics for citing electronic sources in APA style. Always include as much information, as is available or applicable:


  • Author -- Tolstoy, L. or
  • Editor -- Martin, B. (Ed.).
  • Publication date
  • Title of work   
  • Retrieved from https://www.xxxxxxx
