The York County Community College Distinguished Lecturer Series
In keeping with the mission of York County Community College, each fall the Distinguished Lecturer Series seeks to celebrate the artistic, innovative, and educational accomplishments of individuals and communities across the state of Maine. To further the college mission, which is to “provide academic, career, and transfer programs while serving to advance cultural, economic, and workforce development in York County and the state of Maine,” the YCCC Foundation provided generous support for the first series during the fall of 2009. This inaugural event featured Rabbi Harry Z. Sky who spoke about his experiences as a Rabbi in Maine. To carry on this tradition, each fall the college invites distinguished individuals to speak about their experiences and accomplishments as a way to inspire the community toward their own achievements.
The Distinguished Lecturer Series is free and open to the public. All Fall 2012 Series lectures will be held in the Center Cafeteria area of the college from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
