Online Teaching: Faculty Resources: Faculty Brightspace Training

Brightspace Training

Free Professional Development Options

Enroll in Brightspace 101: a self-paced YC course for Brightspace beginners, providing basic, technical instruction on how to use Brightspace tools.

Enroll in onlineTLC: a facilitated course for instructors who would like to teach online for one of Maine's Community Colleges.  This 4 ½ week asynchronous course will introduce faculty to the MCCS Online Teaching and Learning Standards and demonstrate the tools and practices which meet the standards. Faculty will experience an online course as an online student, plan the design of their own course, become familiar with some of the tools and functionality of Brightspace, and share and learn from other instructors. Faculty will have the opportunity to build best practices into and get professional feedback on their online course.  Participants will include seasoned classroom faculty, faculty who may have taught online for other institutions, and faculty who may be new to college instruction.

Those who complete a TLC and all activities therein will be able to earn the onlineTeaching&Learning digital badge from the Maine Community College System.
