Here you will find the various Articulation Agreements, Prior Learning Agreements, and other transfer information YCCC has created to help you earn your degree both at YCCC and towards a more advanced degree (if that is part of your career plans).
As is the case with any program, you may transfer courses you have taken from other accreditied higher education institutions as long as each meets specific criteria (e.g. a grade of C or better). The Admissions Team works closely with us to make sure that the technical courses are mapped as appropriately as possible to our departmental courses.
Earning Credit from Vocational Centers and Area High Schools
Currently, YCCC has articulation agreements with the several schools. Each agreement with the schools is different, and each will have different requirements (e.g. minumum grade) for what needs to be completed before credit can be given. Credits earned this way apply towards YCCC degrees and certifications, but will not transfer to other colleges.

No matter what which of the above is your source prior learning towards a YCCC degree or certificate, the first step would be to talk to YCCC's Admissions Team to help you evaluate how the credits transfer in.
YCCC is a NEASC accredited higher-education institute, and as such, most other higher-education institutions will accept credits from YCCC. However, it is up to the receiving institution to decide what the requirements are (e.g. minimum grade) as well as what course at their school the credits may count towards. Download and read The Transfer Process from Transfer Services to learn about the when, why, and who to's of transfer.
Beyond the general transfer process, community colleges and bachelor degree colleges and universities can go a step further and partner to develop articulation agreements. YCCC currently has articulation agreements for many of our programs with a number of schools. For Computer Technology, we have articulation agreements with the following universities and colleges:
|Transfering to...||With a degree in...|
|Husson University||BS Computer Information Systems|
|University of Southern Maine||(currently in the works)|
You can see the entire list of articulation and transfer agreements here.
