Peg Wheeler Bio: Department Chair

Peg Wheeler received her dual bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in Animal Science and Environmental Conservation in 1982 and completed her master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Southern Maine in 2015. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with about 20 years of experience working in veterinary clinics before going into work in worldwide technical support in veterinary research.  She left that work to start a pet services, animal shelter and feed sales business in 1994.  While running the business, Peg began teaching at UNH in animal science teaching a wide variety of courses including pet grooming, introductory animal science, animal nutrition, small animal management and several other animal business management courses.
