Q: Do I need to/can I make an appointment?

A: Students do not need to make an appointment. Feel free to send over any Word documents or questions you'd like to talk to Sue about. The more you include in your email about your assignment or question the more Sue can help!

However, appointments are an option, too! To request an appointment, please click the icon below to be taken to Sue's calendar:

Q: How long is a tutoring appointment?

A: Tutoring appointments are up to one hour long each. Students may book a maximum of one appointment per week. If you would like more help, please reach out to Sue (yszimmer@yccc.edu).

 

Q: What can a writing tutor help with?

A: A lot! Whether you have to write a discussion post or a 10-page essay, they can help you come up with and discuss your ideas, as well as how to best express your thoughts in writing. You will can get valuable feedback about the organization and tone of your writing. A tutor can help you find resources for your paper. Writing tutors can help you understand citation and work with citation styles, both MLA or APA.
