Kindles in the Library: Kindle Touch Use Policies

A guide to checking out and using Kindles @ YCCC Library

E-Readers Circulation Policies

Kindles are available for check-out at the Library front desk to YCCC students, faculty or staff.  Public patrons may not borrow Kindles.  These items may be borrowed for 3 weeks and can be renewed once if there is no waiting list.

To borrow a Kindle you must have a valid YCCC ID card or number.  If you currently have overdue library items on your YCCC Library account you will be unable to check-out a Kindle.

Kindles come with books already loaded.  Please do not remove or add titles.  Send us your suggestions of titles to add.

Replacement Costs for Lost or Damaged Kindles or Nooks

When you check out a Kindle you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • the Kindles are the property of YCCC
  • the Kindle will be returned in the same conditions in which it was provided and on or before the due date
  • the borrower is responsible for the replacement cost of the equipment, and the cost of any titles loaded on that device

Your cost to replace a lost or damaged Kindle is significant, so take precautions and safeguard these devices.
