The Student Success Commons at York County Community College is a dedicated space designed to support students in their academic and personal growth. It serves as a hub where students can access resources like tutoring, academic advising, study spaces, library materials, and more. The Commons aims to foster a collaborative environment that encourages learning, community, and success throughout every students' educational journey. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to study or need assistance with your coursework, seeking accomodations or counseling, the Student Success Commons is there to help you thrive.
Monday - Friday....7:00am-5:00pm
Saturday - Sunday......Closed
Students are welcome to drop in to the SSC to work on assignments, meet with a success coach, visit the library, use the computers or printers, meet with a tutor during the spring or fall semesters, ask questions, or just hang out and relax!

Please note: if you visit the SSC to hang out, please avoid doing so at the computers or the tables in the math section so that these spaces are available for the students who need to work on their assignments. If you find there is not enough room to sit back and chill in the SSC, please feel free to hang out in the cafeteria or the Pratt and Whitney building. We also ask that all students keep their conversation topics and volume appropriate for a college study area. Thank you for keeping this in mind!

Please note: The SSC is closed during regular YCCC school closures (such as holidays and snow days). Tutoring availability is subject to change due to unforeseen occurrences such as illness, but any permanent schedule changes will be reflected on our site.
Math tutoring and support is available for any MAT class and dosage calculations. We welcome questions of all shapes and sizes, and are happy to provide bad math jokes upon request.
For personal support just walk in to the SSC during our drop-in hours or, for off-campus students, please send questions and screenshots to kcole@mainecc.edu. Please allow up to 24 hours for a reply between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Thursday.

Writing tutoring at the Student Success Commons is available for any kind of writing — discussion posts, essays, speeches, etc. Whether you need help coming up with a topic, organizing your work, using proper citation, or finding sources, a writing tutoring can point you in the "write" direction!

The Student Success Commons is an integrated, active space that includes the library, tutoring services, a writing center, student success coaches, and easy access to the Office of Student Accessibility Services.
The SSC Team offers math, writing, and science tutoring, as well as support for online learning, study tips, and time management skills. Among other things, our success coaches are here to help you find the information you need to make your academic path as smooth as possible.
Our knowledgeable librarian is an excellent resource for finding the material you need when you need it, and our campus space encourages group learning, while still offering quiet spaces for personal studying.
