Meet the SSC Team!: Michele Gallagher

Hello from Michele! Here's a little about me:

I grew up in Massachusetts and summered in York Beach, Maine my whole life. I decided to make York Beach my permanent home with my Fiancé!

I have over 30 years’ experience working in various positions in Special Education.

I have many interests ranging from Arts and Crafts, Music, Gardening, Ancestry, The Muppets, Legos, The Royal Family, Star Wars, Boston Sports Teams, Women’s Soccer and The Sound of Music!

EDUCATION

I have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Westfield State College and Two Master’s Degree in Regular Education and Special Education from Cambridge College.

FUN FACT

My Uncle worked for 50 years for the Von Trapp Family (Sound of Music fame) in Stowe VT . I have met many of the real family members portrayed in the Movie and I am in Charmian Carr (played Liesel) book about my memories with the Von Trapps. I have a “Sound of Music” room in my house with over 100 collectibles!

MY ROLE AT YCCC

Students can set up a meeting with me, provide documentation of a learning disability, and I write some accommodations to help them in class.
