Guard your glow!'July is UV Safety Month, a time to highlight the importance of protecting yourself from ultraviolet (UV) radiation! While sun safety is important year-round, this month reminds us to take extra precautions during the sunny summer season to reduce UV exposure and stay safe outdoors.

How do you keep yourself safe from UV rays?

You can do a few things to minimize your sun exposure and reduce your risk of skin damage:

  • Try to stay in the shade as much as possible. If you are in the sun, wear protective clothing such as a long-sleeved shirt and pants.

  • Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or above to exposed skin. (Source: https://www.skincancer.org/)

  • Avoid being in the sun during peak hours, typically between 10 am and 4 pm.

By taking these precautions, you can help to protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation. (Source: www.https://skinandcancerinstitute.com/).
