 Access Your Brightspace Course

  • Log into Brightspace and select your course.
  • Click any link to Cengage content to continue the registration process.
  • Not sure where to click? Ask your instructor or try clicking on a few links. You’ll know you’ve clicked the right one when you see the Cengage login screen. 

 Link Your Cengage and LMS Accounts

If you already have a Cengage account, log in now. New to Cengage? Click “Create Student Account” and register. We recommend using your school email.

To verify your account, open the ‘Welcome to Cengage’ email you just received and click ‘Activate Cengage Account’ to set your password and complete the registration process. Be sure to use the same device and browser to create and verify your account.

*You might already have a Cengage account if you’ve used MindTap, CNOWv2, OWLv2, SAM, WebAssign or another Cengage platform in a different course.
 
Linking your accounts is a one-time process. If you’ve previously completed this step for another course, you won’t be prompted to do it again.

 Enroll in Your Course

You’ve found your course materials! This includes access to your eBook and assignments. If you purchased an access code, click “Enter your access code” to redeem it. Don’t have a code? Click “Continue”.

 

 Access Your Course Materials

Purchase the materials for just this class.

  • Click “BUY PRODUCT” to purchase access to the materials you need for this course.
  • Not ready to buy? Click “TEMPORARY ACCESS” to access your course materials now and make a purchase decision later.
  • If you already redeemed an access code, click “Continue” to get started.

You can save money if you have courses using Cengage materials.

  • Click “BUY CENGAGE UNLIMITED” to purchase access to Cengage Unlimited, a subscription that includes access to all your Cengage online learning platforms, eBooks, study tools and at least four FREE textbook rentals (just pay shipping/handling).
  • One subscription is all you need. It can be used across all your classes that use Cengage products.

General e-Text Access Guide

Finding your access code
1. Make sure you purchase your textbooks from the YCCC bookstore (https://yccc.bncollege.com)
2. Always use your YCCC student email when signing up for or logging into any YCCC e-learning account. Carefully check that your email address is written correctly.
3. After purchasing your digital materials, check your YCCC student email for an email from “Digital Learning bookstorecustomercare@bncollege.com” inviting you to access the material now in your personal library. If you do not see an email like this, please check your spam folder.
4. To obtain your access code from YUZU you must:
a. Go to https://www.yuzu.com/#sign-in
b. Click the sign in button for “YUZU BARNES & NOBLE”.  
c. Sign in with your campus bookstore account. (Remember, you should have used your YCCC student email when you purchased your textbooks. If you aren’t sure what your password is click “Forgot Password” and follow the instructions that appear. We suggest you have a separate tab with you YCCC email open while you are accessing your textbooks.)
d. After signing in, you should see the textbook(s) you purchased from the YCCC bookstore. If you do not, contact the bookstore to ensure your YCCC student information was properly entered.
e. Select the textbook for which you need the access code and select “Reveal Access Code”.
f. Copy your access code.
g. Login to your Brightspace account (https://mccs.brightspace.com/d2l/login)
h. Select the course for which you just copied the textbook access code.
i. Navigate to the e-text section. When asked, enter your access code.
j. You should now be able to access your e-text and other digital materials through Brightspace.
 
If you do not see the “Reveal Access Code” button from step “e”
1. Follow steps “a” through “d” above.
2. Click the textbook for which you need the access code. To “open” the textbook, you may need to click “Continue Reading” or “Launch Courseware
3. If necessary, open the courseware menu by clicking the icon in the upper right corner.
4. Click “continue” then click “Reveal Access Code” 5.
Copy the code and finish following the previous steps, starting on “f”.
 
If you are still unable to find the “Reveal Access Code” option:
1. Follow steps “a” through “d” in the first set of instructions.
2. Click the profile icon in the top right corner to reveal a drop down menu.
3. Click “resources
4. Click “access codes”
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to reveal the access code you need.

Math Students

Get started with MyLab Math

You do not need a Course ID or invite link to register for MyLab. If you’re prompted for a Course ID, clear your temporary internet cache. Follow the instructions below:

 
  1. Login to Brightspace.
  2. Select your math class.
  3. Click the "Content" tab.
  4. Choose week 1.
  5. Select your e-text.
  6. If prompted, select "Open Pearson"
  7. Select "Open MyLab & Mastering".
  8. Sign in with your YCCC credentials. If your account isn't already registered, refer to the following instructions:
    • Agree to any authorization requests.
    • Link your Brightspace and Pearson accounts. You must use the email address you gave the bookstore when you ordered your materials. Remember: It is strongly recommended that you only use your YCCC student email address.
  9. You will be prompted to select an access option:
    • Enter an access code. (If you completed your purchase with the bookstore and need help finding your access code follow the access code guide on this page.)
    • Buy access using a credit card or PayPal account.
    • Get 14-day temporary access by selecting the link near the bottom of the page. (You must upgrade to full access when you're ready. NOTE: If you have previously used the 14-day free access option for the same title you may not have this option available. If you have not already used the 14-day free access option but the link still isn't available, please coordinate with your instructor and Pearson support.)
  10. Select "Go to My Courses" to open your MyLab or Mastering course. (Refresh the page if you don't see this button.)

 

Upgrade temporary access

If you selected the 14-day temporary access option you will need to upgrade to full access:
1. To go to payment options, do one of the following:
 From your LMS course, select any MyLab and Mastering link.
 From the course home page of your MyLab and Mastering course, select My Courses from the main menu. Then select Upgrade access on the notification.
 Upgrade access from your course confirmation or reminder email.
2. To upgrade access enter an access code (click here for help finding the access code if you already made your purchase through the YCCC bookstore) or buy access using a credit card or PayPal account.
